JEFF'S PAGE
Father's Day, 2008:
Every other part of this web site revolves around the horses or our business ~ and quite frankly ~ Heather (his gorgeous, loving, horse-crazed wife.) So as a tribute to all he does, Jeff is getting his own page!
The horses love him because he sings to them as he feeds them. Okay, so it's really because he feeds them, but Jeff and only Jeff sets off the enthusiastic round of neighs, whinnies, and stomping in the barn as his truck comes down the drive. And all eyes are on him as he pulls the feed cart down the isle.
He is the landscape manager, feed manager, maintenance manager, mechanic, and general all around fix-it guy. Granted, a hired hand could do all this, but who could do it with more love than Jeff? NO ONE!
He is the best dad in the world to three babies (of the two legged variety) and even more of the four legged kind!
And as a hubby, he is actively supportive of his wife's dreams, goals and aspirations. All while working 50 hours a week (or more) at his "normal job," he helps her in the barn with her chores so she has more time to ride, he takes the kids to school, he schedules vacation around her shows, he chases to feed stores, and best of all he doesn't complain when the ponies have a larger wardrobe or more toys than he does!
So, here's to you, honey! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY (2008)
Love,
Heather, Andrew, Makenna, Hunter, River, Brooke, AJ, Leo, Dutch, Turk, Drake, Skeeter, Amby, Hershey, Harold, Clover, Emmy, Muffin, Cuddles, Wesley, Brynn, Theo, Ink, and Jack!
1/14/09:
Jeff lost his Turk right before Christmas. Unfortunately, my dog, Brooke, did the damage. We found Brooke a wonderful home where she can be free to run and play with her people, without the distraction of the birds! Thank you to the family that is loving her! All in that same week, Jeff found our old white goat, Amby, under a tree and unable to get up. We made the decision to humanely euthanize her that day. When it rains it pours. Me, feeling very bad about what my dog had done and just having lost three pets, projected all of my feelings onto a buff colored fat feline bed warmer (that, yes, I adopted, with an eye roll from Jeff) that we named Dallas. Call me a sucker, but Jeff loves him, too. Two days later, we lost power for three and a half days - getting it back the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Jeff stayed with me at the house and we trudged through the chores of the farm and helped our boarders who were dealing with a dark barn. Just a testament to how much Jeff puts into our life here!
Thank you, Honey!
